This weekend we had a conversation with our lawyer and the conclution was that we can not buy this property as the condition is now. It is too unsafe for us at this point. The current owner needs to get his papers in order with the title and tax etc. Still we would love to buy a property in Guimaras but we must try to find another one.
Today our lawyer went to Guimaras to make sure everything is in order there. To make sure the title is ok and that we will be able to build our house there. Everything went very quickly the last few days now.. So hopefully in a couple of weeks we can declare ourselves landowners… To be continued…
In this blog I will tell the story of our journey to buy a property, build a house and then move to Guimaras Island, Philippines. We are me and my girlfriend and my colleague from work. He’s name is Magnus and he joined us going to The Philippines for a 6 weeks holiday earlier this year.
After a few weeks there in the Philippines we landed in Guimaras island. This small paradise in the middle of the country. Just a short hop over the Iloilo-strait from Iloilo city. The Guimaras island is most famous for it’s sweet mango and unfortunatley for an oilspill a couple of years ago.
